ATHLETIC ACITIVITY can be brutal on your body. Ankles, knees - actually all joints get punished serverely by the tremendous forces of impact they encounter during athteltic acitivity. In many sports, the foot - and hence joints - are protected by various cushioning systems built into shoes. Martial arts are done with bare feet, and the absorption of shock by dissipating vertical impact and dispersing it into a horizontal plane must be done by something else than a shoe. When purchasing mats, it is easy to end up with a product that cannot be used in public locations as they violate fire codes and do not conform to the CE regulations. Indeed, even if the mat is not to be used in public locations, you would not like to end up with a product which is a fire hazard and maybe also contains toxins and harmful heavy metals.

| EASY TO USE Budo-Nord mats are easy to use. No particular preparations are necessary. The mats can be laid out on any smooth surface. |

Assembly is easy and can be done without prior experience. Before you assemble a mat on your floor, sweep it and remove all objects. Start in the middle and work your way outwards. Wipe off the mats before you pile them and put them in storage. Pile them straight, so that no single edge is exposed. If possible, support the edges while storing. If the mats are dirty, clean them with a moist cloth using a mild detergent. Do not soak the mats. If they need thorough cleaning, |
| wash them one at a time with warm water again using a mild detergent. |

Budo-Nord jigsaw mat 40 mm Art.nr. 40007-000
1000 x 1000 x 40 mm blue/red
A competition and training mat for Judo, Ju Jutsu and Aikido mm. The mat is 40 mm thick. In blue and red one color on each side. Other colours are available but with a longer delivery time.
Budo Nord mats are extremly shock absorbant without being too soft. Budo Nord has also developed a jigsaw joint with a high wear tolarance which is required when the mats are layed and taken up repeatedly.

A good mat is not too soft. Too soft a mat may lead to injury of the knee as the foot sinks into the mat and does not follow the pivot movement.
Too hard a mat will not absorb impact well enough. A Budo-Nord mat is neither soft nor hard. It is firm.
Even small differences in size will create big problems when all the mats are laid out. Budo-Nord mats measure accurately. Guaranteed.
All mats are 4 cm thick, and come "anti-slip" cover underneath. We stock mats in green and red, but other colours are available.
